Chicago, IL, December 15, 2011 – Coyote, one of the leading providers of third-party logistics and transportation services, has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification. Adopted in 1987 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) the ISO quality system was developed in order to establish an internationally recognized standard of quality. Coyote was awarded its certificate from Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Business Assurance, one of the leading global providers of accredited management systems certification.
“This certification is a testament to the teamwork and commitment to quality among our employees and management team,” said Michael J. Schwartz, Coyote Director of Quality. “Implementing an effective quality management system is a critical step to ensuring that our customers receive the attention and support they have come to expect from the Coyote brand, both today and in the future.”
Coyote implemented an ISO-compliant quality management system that established a systematic approach to managing Coyote’s third-party logistics procurement process. DNV Business Assurance performed a process assessment which focused on Coyote’s proprietary freight management system, internal operations, customer, carrier and driver management, and carrier compliance. The assessment also focused on personnel recruitment and training, accounting, IT support, documentation and records management, problem prevention and correction, and customer satisfaction.
“Today marks one more step in our evolution as a 3PL. ISO certification validates how effective our processes are. It also ensures that we will continue to maintain the highest service standards as we continue to grow,” said Eddie Leshin, Coyote COO. “We recognize our need to participate with our customers and carriers and continuously focus on improving quality and efficiency. ISO certification is just one of many ongoing strategies that help us achieve these goals.”
