Chicago, IL—March 31, 2014—Coyote Logistics and Access America Transport (AAT), two of the fastest-growing third-party logistics (3PL) service providers in North America, completed their merger today. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 2002, Chattanooga, Tennessee-based AAT handles multimodal transportation including truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal, flatbed, and specialized freight for shippers and carriers across the country. The combined company is one of the largest 3PL service providers in North America with run rate revenues of more than $2 billion, 17 North American locations, approximately 40,000 contracted carriers, and approximately 1,750 employees.
“We absolutely love this incredible group of 500 Coyotes who are now part of our team,” said Coyote CEO and Cofounder Jeff Silver. “As we have been able to visit their offices around the country, their welcome has been awe-inspiring. They are as excited to be moving forward with us as our people are to have them. The combination of these two highly charged, committed groups of people will deliver unprecedented value to our customers and carriers.”
“This merger is about the alignment of two great cultures and companies,” said Coyote President of Brokerage Chad Eichelberger. “We share a common set of core values and beliefs, but most importantly, we all share a passion for our people and an unparalleled commitment to shippers and carriers. I am incredibly excited to leverage the strengths of both companies, and this combination will afford even more opportunities for personal and professional growth for both AAT and Coyote employees alike. We are more than ecstatic to join the pack.”
The transaction is consistent with the strategies of both companies: to build a premier supply chain offering that provides services for all transportation needs. Shippers and carriers will benefit from an expanded network, enhanced multimodal transportation capabilities, and improved less-than-truckload services.
Jeff Silver continues to serve as Coyote’s CEO, and Chad Eichelberger, former president of AAT, serves as the combined company’s president of brokerage.
