“We can’t wait to get our skates on and take to the ice to benefit St. Jude,” says Steve Sarauer, project manager of carrier development for Coyote and coach at the Chicago Mission, a top-tier AAA hockey team powered by Coyote. “St. Jude is a remarkable research and treatment organization that has opened the paths to curing diseases for the entire world.”
Coyote is a proud philanthropic supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In the past four years of Coyote’s fundraising campaign for St. Jude, one of the best pediatric cancer hospitals in the country, the pack has raised more than $825,000 through employee-sponsored events.
Admission to Unite on the Ice is free. Open skate tickets are available for purchase at stjude.org/uniteontheice, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The public may purchase tickets to skate at one of three times: 5:45 p.m., 6:45 p.m., or 10 p.m. Each session is 45 minutes, and a maximum of 250 people will be allowed on the ice per session. Tickets for ice-skating are $15 and include skate rental. There will be raffles and auctions for signed memorabilia and photo opportunities with players from the celebrity hockey game, which begins at 7:45 p.m.
Unite on the Ice kicks off the Coyote Hockey City Classic Winter Festival. The Coyote Hockey City Classic, on February 7, 2015, brings together top-tier collegiate hockey talent for a doubleheader at Soldier Field: Miami University will face Western Michigan University at 3 p.m., and Michigan State University will take on rival University of Michigan at 7 p.m. Tickets for the Coyote Hockey City Classic are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com or at Ticketmaster outlets, or call 1-800-745-3000.
About St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other deadly diseases. St. Jude has the world’s best survival rates for the most aggressive childhood cancers, and treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since we opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent in the next decade. St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs we make, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing and food—because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
