CHICAGO, IL–September 21, 2017–Coyote is incredibly proud to announce that the Illinois Technology Association has named Coyote Chief Information Officer Darren Cockrel its ITA CityLIGHTS Technologist of the Year.
This award is presented to the individual whose talent has championed true innovation, either through new applications of existing technology or the development of technology to achieve a truly unique product or service.
“I’m really proud of our team and what we have built,” said Cockrel, “Coyote is a true destination for terrific technologists to build terrific technology.”
Leading the team in the creation, execution, and utilization of Coyote’s technology is Chief Information Officer Darren Cockrel. Alongside his team, Darren and the IT department cover everything from application development to project management, product-road-mapping, IT infrastructure, integration, and more. In October 2016, Darren took on additional responsibility as vice president of technology for supply chain solutions at UPS.
“This year’s winners epitomize the kind of technology companies that are propelling Chicago forward- practical yet innovative businesses that are focused on market results and customer satisfaction over self-promotion,” said ITA CEO Julia Kanouse. “Even as Chicago tech has reached new heights and momentum, the CityLIGHTS Awards remain relevant. These drivers of innovation deserve recognition and accolades for the formidable technological developments and strides they have made that are moving this city ever-forward.”
The winners of ITA CityLIGHTS awards are determined based on nominations from the community, a selection of finalists by a judging committee, and voting by the public.
